PLASTIC TAKE OFF GETS BIG BY GOING SMALL

Erie, Pennsylvania---- Dura-Tite Systems™, LLC, is proud to introduce the 5” take off to their line of self sealing trunk line take offs. “Our plans include adding more sizes to the line including the 4”, 9”, 10” and 12” this year as well as other profiles, like a saddle for round pipe and ultimately other duct components before completing the line”, according to DuraTite CEO, Jim Karnes. DuraTite now offers 5”, 6”, 7” and 8” take offs, with and without dampers. The plastic
take-off features a patented Clip and Zip™ fastening system for quick connections and
double sided adhesive gasket which secures the take-off in seconds, and could replace
the need for mastic at the trunk line connection. The DuraTite take off can be used with
1”, 1-1/2” and 2” duct board and sheet metal trunk lines, and flex or metal duct. There
are no tabs to bend back which means substantial labor savings and no more cut
fingers.

DuraTite’s unique design also gives installers the freedom to pre-install their flex duct
prior to getting up in the attic or crawl space and saves them even more time in the field.
The polypropylene take offs are durable, non-conductive and won’t dent or rust. DuraTite
take offs provide airtight connections and save over 50% in installation time. The
external handle will let the installer adjust the “stay in place” damper into 6 different
locking positions. The take offs have been fire tested by UL for heat and visible smoke
release and are UL2043 approved for use in plenums.
